Michael S Purdom brings to BTS over 35 years of diversified experience in construction and program management. Throughout the US, he has managed a variety of projects ranging from generation stations, hospitals, underground facilities, and Department of Defense. A professional track record showing proven leadership qualities in the following fields: Project Management (Framework & Processes), Scope Management, Time Management, Cost Management, Quality Control, Human Resources, Risk Management, Communications Management, Procurement, Professional Responsibility, PMP Strategies, and forensic engineering.
Michael is responsible for the overall performance and success of projects within his charge. Overseeing daily construction activities of subcontractors, Michael manages the coordination of efforts between field operations, administration, accounting, the owner, the design team, and when applicable, local governments to achieve a timely and profitable completion of projects.
Whether leading all aspects of a project or program, enhancing a client’s internal or outsourced team, or providing a specialty service such as controls, energy consulting, or dispute resolution, Michael is commitment to delivering value and driving results on behalf of clients.
Michael’s depth of expertise is derived from his diverse background and broad experience. These strengths enable BTS to easily adapt to the clients’ unique needs, supporting how and where we can add the most value. No task is too small or too complex. An assignment could include recommendations on a phased approach to a multi-billion capital improvement plan, evaluating procurement options for an urban mixed-use property, or support reviewing a schedule, change order, or dispute around an ongoing project.
His flexible approach provides each client with tailored and specialized services precisely when they are needed on each project or program. Michael is an exceptional communicator and is never shy to speak up when he sees an opportunity to help improve the outcome of a project. Originally from Lacey Township New Jersey, Michael grew up in a renovation household with weekends and summers spent learning building trades from his father. This education combined with his practical experience evolved into roles representing ownership in the construction business. Restaurants, small grocery stores and office space. Michael’s intuition to foresee demand forecasting and workplace experience. As a Sr.Construction Manager, he continues his passion for service and hospitality - representing owner interests and building spaces that create memorable experiences. Michael applies expert knowledge, industry experience, and relentless energy to your projects and solving any of your companies issues. Ryan Purdom served his country proudly for 4 years while obtaining a vast amount of knowledge and experience in an array of fields pertaining to construction management. Mr. Purdom has been trained in hazardous waste/universal waste disposal along with his OSHA certification. He has shown to be a proven leader in site management and supervision. Ryan has worked alongside the Department of Defense ensuring all general safety, environmental and special training requirements were met.
Mrs. Purdom has been with BTS since its inception and has been an integral part of the company maintaining all office administrative affairs as well as overseeing the accounting department. Mrs. Purdom has over 20 years experience as an administrator and in accounting in the professional services industry. Lisa is our clients’ first point of contact in the office or on the phone. Though considered "back office" activities, these functions are essential to the proper operation of a business. Mrs. Purdom assists is the process of developing strategies, plans, procedures and policies that guide our business on both a day-to-day and long-term basis. She is involved in coordinating human, financial and material resources to achieve the companies organizational objectives.
Peter Julo is a licensed Civil P.E with over 29 years of experience constructing projects of diverse scales and typologies. He has extensive experience in programming and site analysis researching and documenting various site limitations such as: topography, zoning, utilities, easements, contextual considerations, traffic patterns, sunlight variations, acoustics, etc. He has graphic design experience preparing and assisting in the production of presentation drawings, material boards and models and participating in the analysis of four-dimensional relationships and related design concepts that would best satisfy the client’s program requirements. Peter Julo design development experience includes initiating the preparation of detailed development drawings from schematic design and engineering documents and calculating variables in accordance with building code requirements such as: numbers and sizes of exits, stair dimensions, fixtures, restrooms, and barrier free accessibility. He also has vast experience preparing and coordinating detailed construction documents, consulting with project architects in the selection of various interior finish materials and collaborating on various projects with associated professionals such as: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural Engineers and Landscape Architects. Moreover, he has experience participating in the contractor/architect punch list verification and substantial completion inspections and regularly contributing to the analysis and resolution of conflicts pertaining to the construction documents. Mr Julo attended Iowa State University where he earned both his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture in 1987 and Master of Architecture in 1993. He is a licensed architect in New Jersey and is a member of the Environmental Building News.
Mr. Thompson is an experienced Senior Project Manager and MEP Manager with over 40 years’ experience in the management of public and commercial construction projects exceeding one billion dollars in value. Throughout Pete’s career, he has functioned as a senior project manager, MEP manager and MEP superintendent in the successful delivery of large scale and complex projects. Mr. Thompson has extensive and relevant experience in design document constructability reviews, value engineering, contract review, submittal review, CPM scheduling, estimating, change order analysis, MEP coordination, systems commissioning, quality assurance, technical and business writing, technical issue resolution and claim mitigation. Pete has worked on State, Federal and Port Authority of NY/NJ projects as well as educational, commercial, corporate, laboratory, correctional, museum and air transportation facility projects. In addition to his experience with MEP, he is significantly experienced in all construction disciplines. A good communicator who has a reputation for overseeing the successful delivery of his projects through project closeout.
